Although you could adapt it for any use you can think of, the original concept for the teams was for breaking your group into teams for evengelism programs or competitions. The idea came from a youth pastor who divided his group into 4 teams. Individuals on each team were awarded points for things such as attendance, bringing their Bible, bringing a friend, etc. At the end of several weeks, points were tallied up and the winning team was given a prize.
The Team Roster report was added to help track team attendance and individual points for situations like this one.
Some users utilize the team field in order to separate their group into sub-groups, such as Junior High and Senior High. This makes it possible to report on the groups separately.
The first time you assign a team name to an individual, you need to type it in. Afterwards, that team name will be in the drop-down list. The Team Roster report is an alternative to the Roll Sheet for taking roll and tracking points by team.
