It's always a good idea to make a backup of your Envision data. You can make backups at any time by choosing "Backup Data" from the program's File menu. This procedure backs up the data to the Envision program folder and tells you the name of the file. Then you can copy the backup file to a floppy or other media for safe keeping.
In case you forget to make backups, the program automatically backs up your data about once a week to a slightly different filename in the Envision program folder. It is still recommended that you make regular backups and archive them to to a floppy or CD.
