How do I "clone" a member?

Answer/Resolution

The clone button on the member and visitor screens allows you to easily create a record for a sibling of someone who's already in your database.  This button copies values like the last name, postal address, and home phone number to a new record where you fill in the other information specific to the new person.  This is simply a shortcut that saves you some typing time.

Often a new member or visitor has an older sibling who is already part of your group.  In this case, open the sibling's record and click the "clone" button.  The person's address and phone number are transferred to a new record where you can fill in the new sibling's name and other information.

Note: In version 1.3.2 and below, if you leave certain fields blank on the record you are cloning, you may get an error that says, "Invalid use of null".  To avoid the error, you need to enter a value in the following fields on the record to be cloned: last name, street address, city, state, zip, home phone number, and parents' names.  This error has been eliminated in version 1.4 and above.
